Approximately 19 miles north of Union Creek off highway 230 is Mt. Thielsen viewpoint. Around mile marker 19 at the Mt. Thielsen viewpoint starts the upper Rogue River Boundary Springs Trail. This was a first for us and a very exciting adventure. We spotted a bear walking through our property. The bear didn't seem to pay much attention to us, thankful, as he walked through the yard - as if he belonged here. This was no zoo bear but a real wild bear.

Federal Law: The supreme court ruling states: that local governments can enforce anti-camping ordinances against homeless individuals, even when no alternative shelter is available.
