Upcoming priorities for Conservatives in Oregon 2026:
In regard to what conservatives need to focus on in Oregon in the upcoming year, I would like to get suggestions and ideas from people. Below is a list I started to work on if anyone has suggestions or thoughts….
State Level:
Governor election in 2026: We must focus on selecting a candidate that has the best chance of winning. All our time and energy to go into ensure this person wins.
State House and State Senate: I have heard there is a reasonable chance of securing enough wins in the house and senate to “maybe” take away the democrats “super-majority” which would help a great deal in reining in some of these horrific policies that are destroying our state.
State Legislation:
Ongoing “End Vote by Mail”
Repeal or have the referendum of HB 3991 the gas tax.
Repeal HB 3115 (Homeless Objectively Reasonable): This would stand a good chance if we take away the super majority and especially win the governors seat. I do have other ideas on this I will put out later.
Repeal SB 48 (pretrial release in Oregon): How and when people charged with crimes may be released before trial, and under what conditions). This is one of the reasons why we have so many criminals on the streets all the time.
Josephine County:
Ensure our current commissioners are not recalled.
Commissioner’s position is up in 2026, Andreas Blech seat will be up for election in 2026. Andreas Blech did file as a candidate for filling the seat in 2026. There is a good possibility that John West may enter the election for his old commissioner seat. I suspect there will be many other candidates, we need to ensure it remains in conservative hands.
Grants Pass City: Focus on reducing the homeless population and removing the encampments located in the middle of the city.
In order to accomplish any of this, it will call for unity among conservatives – not division but unity.
Any suggestions for realistic priorities in the upcoming year?
