Governor Kotek is up for reelection in 2026. If recalled she will be replaced by Tobias Read, a clone of Kotek’s progressive polices. You can read more about Tobias Read progressive leanings at;

The question to ask is – What will motivate the most voters in 2026 election:
a) A toxic Governor Kotek that everyone is familiar with and strongly dislikes? Or
b) A newly appointed Tobias Read without the toxic history that Governor Kotek is known for? Many people will not be very familiar with Tobias Read and will be willing to give him a chance, is a valid concern.

Further Questions To Consider:

Is it better to have instant gratification by recalling Governor Kotek or is it better to play the long game for the win?

Is it better to spend the resources on locating a good conservative candidate that can win in 2026, building the resources for the ground game to win in 2026 and registering more conservatives to ensure a win in 2026?

What will motivate the most voters in 2026, is the real question to ask. Further, if republicans are not able to recall Governor Kotek – just how will that affect their motivation for the 2026 election?

Those types of questions are meant to be pondered before quickly deciding on recalling Governor Kotek, in my opinion. As one person would say, we are playing chess not checkers. It is your decision, your vote – use it wisely. I am not here to tell you what to do – but simply offer a different viewpoint that perhaps you hadn’t thought of.
